Location: Calgary, Alberta
The Natural Resources business unit currently has a strategic opportunity available for a Senior Geologist in their Calgary office. The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Mining and this position has to provide technical leadership on projects, studies and audits as well as providing project support across the business.

Responsibilities
• Local and international studies ranging from conceptual through to feasibility.
• Reviews and audits of exploration and pre-development programs
• Developing and review of geological models in support of resource estimates
• Performing variography and grade interpolation as well as verification and validation of resource models
• Performing grade control and reconciliation studies
• Site inspections and procedural audits
• Peer review of studies and reports
• Project and study management
• Project evaluations and risk assessments
• Sign off Mineral Resources under relevant codes such as JORC or NI-43101
• Ensuring professional development of technical and administrative staff
• Actively supporting business development activities through participation in conferences, direct business development activities and strategic client relationship management.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor of Science (Geology) from a recognized college or university
• Registered Geologist or eligibility to register with a relevant professional association (APEGGA, AusIMM, SAIMM, AIG, AIME)
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in exploration geology with a focus on mineral deposit evaluation
• Exposure to both open pit and underground operations an advantage
• Previous exposure to the consulting environment will be seen as an advantage
• Previous experience with Coal is as an advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced technical report writing skills
• Experience in computerized resource estimation and ore body modeling with a proven record of technical competence
• Fluency in the operation of major modeling software packages; such as Datamine, MineSight, Gemcom or Vulcan.
• Knowledge of National Instrument (NI) 43-101 or Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) codes with the ability to serve on mineral reserves as a Qualified Person
• Ability and willingness to travel to both domestic and international project sites, for varying durations and at times to remote locations.
